About this setup
The server separates two groups that otherwise drive each other away: people who listen to music and people who make it. Both get a complete area of their own, and both can see the other - that is the point, because most of it happens between them. Eighteen genres each have their own channel and their own role. Your own tracks sit in a forum, because a song has vanished from the chat after a day and feedback takes time. Every post carries what is being asked for: feedback wanted, just to listen, mix question, lyrics question, collaborators wanted. The most important device is a role: everyone chooses what kind of feedback they want - honest and direct, constructive, or encouragement only. That ends the most common misunderstanding on music servers, namely that somebody shows a first attempt and receives a mix analysis. For exactly these cases there is also a separate channel for first attempts, where kindness comes first. On top come production help as a forum sorted by recording, mixing, mastering and arrangement, an area for gigs including shared rides, and voice channels for listening, playing and mixing together.
